Flying Lessons

Mission Statement:

To instruct each and every person to solo within a reasonable time frame.

Novice Training Program 2018:

Starts  Thursday, June 7th for seven consecutive weeks. Training sessions will be held within the hours of 4:00PM to7:00PM. If a training session is cancelled due to weather conditions,  make up days will be added to the training schedule. If possible, each trainee will be assigned the same instructor for the six week period.
Students will have four flights per instruction session. The seventh sessions will be for students to demonstrate their flying skills in order to receive their solo pilot certification.

Alternatively:

Starting in June and ending in September, the club will have a few instructors available to work with individual student on a mutually agreed day and time other than Thursday sessions. The number of students participating in this program is dependent upon the number of Instructors available. Students will receive the same number of weeks and flights as outlined in the Thursday training sessions.
If any questions, contact Head Instructor Larry Ventura – 207-571-4297, E-Mail

What club instructors expect from students:

• Join the Portland Propsnappers R/C Club, join AMA, and pay the instruction fee .

• Have a fully charged transmitter & receiver (nitro planes) battery (at least 12 hours the night before the novice night).
• Plane fully checked out for flight worthiness at the hobby shop. (We can do this at the club field but you may not be able to fly that particular evening if the plane needs additional work done to it).
